
Chalet Tontine sits in Le Pont, a former farming hamlet on the south-facing slopes of Les Houches at the entrance to the Chamonix Valley — about 10 minutes from central Chamonix. The Aiguille du Midi and the Mont Blanc range fill the view from the lounge, terrace and garden. The hamlet still has a working farm where a local baker sells crusty pain de campagne and other produce one day a week; a small chapel marks the start of the private cul-de-sac the chalet sits on. The valley-floor walking trail linking the villages passes close by — a natural launch point for a morning trail run or a walk with the dog.

The property is a spacious semi-detached chalet laid out over three levels. Three proper bedrooms (two doubles, plus a third that converts between a double and two singles) are supplemented by a cosy mezzanine niche with two further single beds, better suited to children or younger sporty adults than tall guests. Bathrooms are well distributed: one en-suite shower room, one full bathroom with bathtub and shower, a third shower in the sauna room, and a separate WC. The double-height open-plan living area has a wood-burning stove and underfloor heating; other rooms have electric radiators, all on electronic thermostats. The covered balcony with BBQ is the warm-weather dining spot, with a lower patio and garden below.
Les Houches, Brévent and Grands Montets ski areas are all within easy reach. Day-trip options include Courmayeur through the Mont Blanc tunnel, Vallorcine and onward into Switzerland, Megève, and Saint-Gervais. Geneva airport is under an hour away by car, with motorway access just minutes from the chalet — a significant advantage over many Alpine destinations that involve three-hour-plus transfers.
Ideal for a single family with several children, a multi-generational group of up to eight, two families travelling together, or an active skier and trail-running group wanting a quieter base than central Chamonix.
